SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain Swatches/Review | Rutele

Hi my loves!

Ever since I received my first sample of the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain product I have been obsessed. It was pigmented, opaque and so long lasting. I wanted to test out more of the collection and bring to you my thoughts!

Are they comparable to higher end lipsticks? Are they better? Are they long wearing? Find out by watching the video below or scroll on down for a written review!

I tried out 5 different shades: 01 Always Red, 04 Coral Crush, 10 Mandarin Muse, 35 Bohemian Purple, and 44 Purple Sunset.

Here are all of the swatches on my arm.

Like I mentioned above, I started out with the shade Always Red and fell in loveeee. It went on so smoothly, was super opaque, no patchiness, no dryness, and did not flake much throughout the day. It lasted all day long even when I was in a “shoveling food” stage. Just one of those days where I literally ate all day long and the lipstick barely moved.

After 9 hours:

After that success, I decided to buy some more shades and test them out for you guys.

The next color that I tried was Coral Crush. I really wanted to love this one…ugh so sad about it because the color is amazing! It looks so pretty with my skin tone and I was so in love but the formula was different from the others. This one feels more whipped and creamy vs liquid. It went on super patchy, I had to reapply a couple times and even then the color was not smooth. Since I had to apply so much product it was very flaky and cracked all over. I hated it so much that I had to wipe it off only an hour after applying.

The next color I tried out was Mandarin Muse. This one I really wanted to love as well but had the same problem as Coral Crush. Not very happy with it at all. The picture below is the only one that I took while wearing it out but by two hours into wearing it, I was dying to take it off. It does look very pretty and I had a lot of questions on what the lipstick was but the color alone was not enough for me to praise it.

This next color is one of my favorite and I have gotten numerous questions and compliments every time that I wear it. It’s not your typical lip color but its formulated in such a way that it doesn’t look crazy and I can pull it off on a daily basis. It is called Bohemian Purple. Just like the red liquid lipstick, this is a liquid formula so it applies smoothly and evenly. It also lasts a very long time which is a huge plus for me.

This is my all time favorite from the collection. This one is called Purple Sunset and it  makes my dark vampy soul oh so happy. It is liquid as well and applies beautifully. It does not dry out my lips any more than my other liquid lipsticks and its such a unique color. I LOVE IT!!

MY THOUGHTS:

I really wanted to try these and say OMG these are the best liquid lipsticks ever and so affordable, GO BUY THEM, but that was not my reaction. They are too all over the place with the formula. Seems like the deeper and darker colors are much better so if you want to snag some of those, I am giving you a huge thumbs up! They are fairly affordable, costing you $14 versus the usual price of $20 for most of my favorite liquid lipsticks. I would suggest that you do try them out, you could like them more than me, it’s all about your preference.

You can purchase these here.

Hope you enjoyed this review!!

Glitter Space Bun Hair Tutorial | Rutele

Hi baby cakes!

Today I demonstrate to you how I do my half up, dutch (reverse french braid) braid bun with a ton of glitter to resemble the space buns…but my own version.

Space buns are so popular and you can use any glitter you have. The bigger, more colorful and chunkier it is, the cuter. I only had my NYX glitters so I used those.

As mentioned in the tutorial, here is a more detailed video of how to do an inverted french braid.

I hope you enjoyed this hair tutorial and if you’d like to see more of these, click the like button!

Cream Contouring 101 | Rutele

This has been the number one question I have been getting from people around me for a couple of years now…basically since I got really into makeup! Contouring is always something that people are seriously afraid of!

I decided to start a little series on my channel called 101 which will be breaking down the steps of makeup application that people tend to be intimidated by! Of course I wanted to start with the #1 scare…CREAM CONTOURING!

As mentioned in the video, I am using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Palette in Light. If you have a concealer that is two shades lighter than you and a concealer that is two shades darker than you, that will work. Use one to highlight and the other to contour. Listed below will be the ABH Palette and cheaper alternatives. 🙂

Smashbox Always On Gel Liner Review | Rutele

Hi baby cakes,

I am so excited about today’s post…I saw these liners on Tati’s YouTube and have been wanting to try them out sooooo badly! I finally caved on my “no buying” streak (let’s be real, I have issues and just can’t handle that) and went to Ulta. There I was mesmerized by the 10 different shades. I really wanted to sweep all of them up…but they are $18 a piece so I had to slow my role… I am not made of monayy.

After standing there for about 20 minutes, I narrowed it down to these three colors: Private (navy), Bubbly (rose gold), and Fish Net (black). If figured these were the basic colors that I would use most.

The packaging is nice, sleek and shows the pencil right on the outer shell, so you know what to expect inside. These are non retractable so if you don’t have a sharpener, you should pick one up as well. They claim to last 24 hours but be bendable on initial application until they dry down. These are formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, fragrance, talc and alcohol.

The actual pencils are nice, slim and fit nicely in the hand.

Here are the swatches on my arm. They are super creamy like butter. Ugh its so nice gliding these on because of the high pigmentation and the no tugging factor. They just glide right on. The colors are so beautiful and so opaque.

How To Use:

If you haven’t used it yet there is no reason to sharpen this, unless you want a finer point. To sharpen you need a pencil sharpener, which can be a makeup one but I have used a regular pencil one and it works just the same. Take the pencil and apply along the lash line or in the inner rim in short strokes. You can  mix the colors to create cool and graphic looks.

My Thoughts:

HOLY HELL I AM IN LOVE…who needs a man when you can have good makeup! LOL this is sooo creamy, glides on so easily (which is perfect for your inner rims of the eyes) and stays on so long without smudging! It is so pricey, yes but you get a ton of product and it is extremely high quality. If I was rich, I’d buy every single of of them. I would absolutely suggest at least grabbing the black one for every day use!

Have you used these magical pencils?? Let me know!

XOXO, Rutele!
