DAVINES AWARD-WINNING LOVE SMOOTHING SHAMPOO Review | Rutele

Hi everyone,

I take my hair very seriously…something about a bad hair day really throws me off so I am always on the look out for better products. I want my hair to be soft, silky and smooth. If any product provides me with this…it’s a winner.

I received a sample of the Love line from Davines and immediately took a shower to see what it is capable of. LOL I’m so extra.

I do want to begin with a little bit of information on the Davines brand itself. It was founded in 1983 by the Bollati family in Italy. The family started by producing high end hair care for salons and cosmetic companies and after 10 years of creating for others, they started their own brand and called is Davines, which is what the brand is known as to this day.

Davines only produces products using high grade natural ingredients and places very high emphasis on customer safety. They also pay a lot of attention to respecting the environment which is why I really appreciate and admire the company.

This is not the first time I am trying out the brand. I personally use the Alchemic line every week to maintain the redness in my hair and I have loved the results.

Davines LOVE Shampoo

This is what the sample bottle looks like which is an identical version of the actual big bottle, just shrunken down. This line is specifically targeted to individuals with frizzy and unruly hair. It claims to gently cleanse the hair and make it smooth.

The scent of this is citrusy/flowery. It lathers fairly well, not anything crazy which is okay because highly concentrated shampoos don’t need to foam up to clean your hair.

The active ingredients in this are Minute Olive from Sicily (fatty acids and vitamins which aids in elasticity and softness) and Phenethyl Benzoate (helps give the hair shine).

The product comes in three sizes: 250 ml, 1000 ml, 12 ml.

Davines LOVE Conditioner

This is how the conditioner was packaged in my sample. This is not what the actual packaging looks like! It normally comes in a tub. Just like the shampoo, this is specifically for frizzy hair. This conditioner helps to strengthen, hydrate and give elasticity to the hair.

This coats the hair nicely, and smells like the shampoo but a little more bearable.

The active ingredients in this are Minute Olive from Sicily (fatty acids and vitamins which aids in elasticity and softness) and Panthenol (helps with moisture and shine).

The product comes in three sizes: 250 ml, 1000 ml, 12 ml.

My Thoughts:

Now I do not suffer from frizz but I like my  hair super soft so I was hoping this would help with that. It absolutely made my hair really smooth when it was dry and styled but my hair felt a bit brittle and dry. The scent is not my favorite at all but I think that’s because I have been spoiled by Pureology, who I swear has a separate lab just for the scents they create for their products. I am sad to say that this is not my favorite. For my hair texture this just wasn’t the perfect product and I will not be purchasing the full sizes. Now this does not mean I do not like the brand. I love the other products I use from here and I will continue to use those. The brand has a great stance on the environment and they put a lot of love into their products so really this could work for someone who has frizzy and unruly  hair.

You can buy the shampoo here.

You can buy the conditioner here.

Have you used Davines in general? How do you feel about the brand?

XOXO, Rutele.

Hi beautiful people! I am originally from Lithuania but have been in the USA for about 15 years. I currently reside in Florida, the sunshine state. I am in my early twenties and just graduated from a university with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Advertising. Ever since I was a little girl I have been very interested in fashion, beauty, and makeup. As I grew older, I also became intrigued by traveling. This is what this blog is all about. I want to share my trial and errors and hopefully help others by learning new things, or maybe just encouraging to try out things you normally wouldn't. I hope you enjoy this blog!
