Ever since I was a little girl I have loved makeup! At the age of ten I couldn’t even walk out of the house without some lip gloss on.

Over the years I have tried out hundreds of products, of which some were successes and some were miserable failures. I am happy to say that I have found my ride or die products, at least for now! I mean it only took me 21 years of my life!! Below you will find the name, a description of the product and how to use it, and if you click on the image, you will be redirected to a site where you can purchase it (they will be listed in the order that I usually apply them).

  • MAC Prime+ Prep Fix +

Apply this before the primer. Allow it to dry into the skin and then proceed. You can also use this after you have set your foundation with a setting powder to prevent the make up from looking too dry. This gives your make up a more natural finish. This also works wonders when it comes to eye shadows. If you have a sparkly shadow that you want to have more of a pop to it, spray a little bit of this on your brush, dip it in the eye shadow and apply on the eye.

  • COVER FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation

s1487487-main-hero

Foundations are pretty simple. After priming your face, apply a small amount of this to your face, a little really does go a long way with this one. It is oil free therefore it is unlikely to break you out. It is pretty full coverage and makes the skin look flawless. If you have anything you want to hide, a pimple or some freckles…you cannot go wrong using this product.

  • Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

s1654110-main-hero

Use this to highlight under the eyes, under the mouth, and above the eyebrows. This works as a great setting powder for under the eyes!! It is an amazing and creamy consistency which makes contouring and even bronzing a breeze. I do suggest getting the Kat Von D brush which has two ends, one for highlighting and the other for contouring!

  • BECCA Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed – Champagne Pop

s1721240-main-hero
FAVORITE HIGHLIGHTER EVER! This may be because I am obsessed with Jaclyn Hill, but it is a beautiful peachy tone perfect for my skin tone which fairly light. Use this to highlight and even as a shadow! Just brush some on the high points of your cheeks and in the corner of your eyes and BOOM, you are good to go!

  • Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

s1533439-main-hero
This mascara is a little hard to work with, yes, it’s a bit messy but if you wipe off the excess product off the wand before applying….oooh it’s wonderful. I have pretty long lashes to begin with, but this mascara makes them thick and long and perfect! I never wear any fake lashes because with this mascara you don’t need to!

  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Lolita

s1552413-main-hero

Best mauve shade for lips. The formula is beautiful! It dries perfectly matte and stays on all day. Compliment worthy! Try it out!

  • Urban Decay Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray

s1458199-main-hero
Use this spray after all of your make up is already on! Spray about 4 spritz and let it air dry. Setting spray prevents your make up from sliding around or transferring on to other surfaces. I also have noticed that it makes my make up look more natural!! Who doesn’t love that?? It is quite pricey but it does last a long time. I have been using it for about 3 months (basically on a daily basis) and my bottle is still half full.

**As a tip from a person who really loves makeup and the power behind it, I do suggest investing in higher end products. Yes, you could buy from drug stores but the overall quality is lower and the longevity of the products is as well. I started my make up journey with drug store products and at this moment in my life I wish I would have saved that money and spent it on products that may be a tad bit more expensive but better for my skin and just overall better quality.

  1. Honestly I don’t care that much about makeup but the author of this article is really beautiful so I read it. Turns out she’s a pretty good writer too 😉 Couldn’t agree more with the last statement about spending a little extra on high quality products. It may seem like unnecessary spending but in the end you save money by not having to replace shoddy equipment or, in this case, makeup.

  2. I really needed these tips! Now i just need to get my hands on some of that highlighter. <3 Your makeup looks awesome! I would tell you what my holy grails are, but you'd probably laugh, and besides… yours are way cooler than mine!

  3. Great post! I love the sound of the Colour FX oil free foundation! I’ve just ran out of my current bare minerals bits so I definitely will try this! ❤️Rhi xx

      • My gf is a hardcore tumblr and she thought you looked familiar. She is from coconut creek, Fl so had to ask if you had mutual friends and a different tumblr name by chance lol. She says your Kat Von d contour kit is bomb!

      • Ah no, I have never used Tumblr lol people tell me all the time that they saw someone that looked like me so it doesnt surprise me. I guess I look like alot of people! All of Kat Von D’s stuff is awesome.

      • Lol that’s hilarious yeah I’m more of a Facebook and IG kind of guy. Apparently I need to take notes so I can get her some quality stuff for our one year anniversary coming up lol 👌🏻
