So today’s topic is hair treatments…I love my hair…sometimes even more than anything else. Every time I cut it short (and yes I have made that mistake more than once) I have regretted it and hated myself for doing so. It always takes such a long time to grow long again so I am always on the hunt for products that will make my hair strong, soft and grow faster.
Every time a cool and promising hair product crosses my path I am extremely excited to try it out and see what it can offer my hair. Today I will be discussing my experience with the OUAI Treatment Mask.
What it is:
A restorative healing mask that’s formulated to leave strands incredibly soft and smooth after just one treatment.
Which hair type is it good for?
✔ Tightly Coiled
– Repairs damaged hair
– Increases resistance to future damage
– Mends split ends
So this hair treatment says it is made without any parebens or phthalates which is awesome because in reality the less chemical shit in it, the better it is for your hair. The main ingredients in this are OUAI Smart Technology Complex, Tamarind Seed Extract, Smart Keratin, Amino Acid Blend and Artichoke Leaf Extract. Sounds like a lot of good stuff!
How to Use:
You are to smooth this through your hair, leave it in for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse. If you have super coarse hair, use it every day after shampooing. This can be applied to both wet or dry hair. Just don’t forget to rinse this out.
So I used this in the shower after shampooing and left it in for about 5 minutes. I rinsed it and had to condition my hair afterwards because it felt a little too dry for my liking. When I blow dried my hair, it felt strong but dry and I hate that feeling. This product has amino acids in it which is a protein which explains the dry feeling. Protein tends to suck out the moisture out of your hair and exaggerate the dryness.
Personally, I hate the feeling of dry hair so this product is a dud for me. I like to use one special product a time so to use this mask and then also a conditioning mask is just a little too high maintenance for me (I didn’t think I would ever say those words lol). Also who has the time for that?? I like to be in and out of the shower in tops 15 minutes. I am glad I only had a sample to use because I would have been disappointed and sad for spending the money on a full size product.
Although, if you have really mushy hair (usually happens after bleaching it) this product will save your life!!! It will reconstruct your hair and fill the gaps in the hair cuticles. I would recommend this for you blonde gals and guys! Just make sure to put moisture back into your hair by doing some kind of mask or treatment.
This does cost $14 for 3 treatments and $32 for 8 treatments. Each treatment is .3 oz.
