#GRLPWR Liquid Lipsticks Review | Rutele

Hey hey hey!

Today I will be reviewing the #GRLPWR Liquid Lipstick by The Beauty Crop.

I am a die hard liquid lips kind of gal..I love them for the opaque factor and for the longevity (I despise having to reply every 5 minutes). But in the end, the main reason I sway towards the liquid lipsticks is because they don’t smudge around and they don’t end up on your teeth at random times of the day. Like how awkward is it to tell someone they have lipstick on their teeth? I like to avoid that lol

This liquid lipstick I received in my Birchbox and was so excited to try it out because when you have issues like me, even when you find something that works like a dream, you still look for something better…Am I the only one here that does that?? Besides being  new, I was obsessed with the redness of it. I got the shade called “Imma Bawse”.  I have been on a red lip kick lately and it really satisfied some type of need in my life.

The Beauty Crop is a brand that is inspired by healthy living and they create products enhanced with nutrition derived from natural ingredient. They try to avoid complex formulas and try to avoid unnecessary additives. The company claims to create unique recipes that include natural oils and plant based extracts for products that will nurture and deliver intense color technology. All products are 100% cruelty free.

The #GRLPWR Liquid Lipstick collection is their newest line of lip products that are designed to celebrate female empowerment and individuality. These have Shea Butter and Vitamin E in them so they should be comfortable to wear for long periods of time, shouldn’t flake or dry out. The packaging is actually really cute. The top is metallic and it has metallic kisses all over.

How To Use:

I would suggest using a lip liner before applying this just to draw out the shape of your lips. The applicator is not the most precise one so it can get messy (I had to use concealer to clean up a couple of areas).  Apply one coat, let it dry and apply the second coat.

This is what the product looks like after two layers.

My Thoughts:

As you can see from the close ups, the lipstick is extremely patchy. I loveeeeee the color on the lips, I just wish it applied more evenly. After the initial application, it felt nice and smooth on my lips. I didn’t feel a crazy amount of tightness or dryness. Bear in mind that I applied this around 11AM. By 4PM, it was cracking and flaking off and the dryness was causing my lips to feel extremely uncomfortable so I applied some lip balm on top. Once the lip balm was on, the lipstick, of course, started sliding around and getting to other places on my face. That eventually dried down a little bit and I was able to eat without too much of the lipstick disappearing. It has been hours ever since I ate and even though its still patchy, its still on my lips (well basically still on my lips, there are definitely some bare spots). It also bled around the corner of my lips. So technically is has lasted all day but I wouldn’t recommend this product, even for the price of $14.95. I would rather pay $5 more and get a product that fits my criteria and needs.

If you want to check these out (they could work for you), you can purchase them here.

Has anyone tried this brand out before?? Did you have the same experience with the liquid lipstick? Let me know in the comments below! :*

XOXO, Rutele.
