Happy Monday! Or is it?? (it’s okay, I hate Mondays too! lol)
I wanted to review this new COVER FX setting spray for you on a Monday just in case any one of you have been eyeing it! New products are always so exciting for me!
I love COVER | FX, especially their oil free foundation so when I saw they came out with a setting spray I was over the moon! I ordered it immediately and patiently waited for it to arrive.
If you would like to see the spray in action, I did use it in this tutorial. Skip to 14:42.
This “quick drying” setting spray claims to set your makeup all day with a fine mist, while giving you an instant all over illumination. It is also alcohol free. SCORE!
HOW TO USE:
Make sure to shake this very well before spraying, this is key. After all of your makeup is applied, hold the bottle about 10 inches away from your face and spray evenly all over. Make sure your eyes and mouth are closed during the spraying. You can even use this to set your body if you have applied any makeup there.
From the first spray, I was not a huge fan honestly. I guess nothing will ever come close to the UD All Nighter but man this one was a dud for me. I like the idea of this for sure, but it comes out so splotchy and spotty. Since it is meant to illuminate, it has almost like an oil to it so it leaves these dots that you can’t blend out very well. I can’t be dealing with that, especially when I am usually spraying my face and running out the door. Looking past the spots, it didn’t help my makeup stay on longer than it would have without setting and my face was fairly oily by the end of the day which is new to me because I do not have oily skin.
If you would like to try this out for yourself, you can buy it on the official website or Sephora. It runs for $31 dollars, which is the exact same price as the All Nighter Setting Spray by Urban Decay. What doesn’t work for me, does not mean it will not work for you! If you have super dry skin, this could be your best friend!!
I am actually really sad to not like this because I need some change in my life. Do you use any setting sprays besides the All Nighter that you love? Let me know in the comments below!
