As many of you know, I am obsessed with liquid lipsticks, or lip products in general so I am always on the look out for the best products. Could I have really found the best non drying liquid lipstick? Could this be it? Does that even exists?
Today I am reviewing the Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipsticks! Find out if they are worth all of the hype! If you would like to watch the review, click play below. If you would like to read about it, scroll on down.
I have heard numerous beauty gurus talk about these lipsticks and the brand over all, but I am always so skeptical about what they say so I ended up trying them out and really shaping my own opinion. I initially stumbled upon them on Ulta which sparked my interest. This used to be an independent company that mostly sold on their own website but since they entered the Ulta stratosphere, I made the decision to snag some up for myself. I selected four different colors to try for this review: Coral Crush, Desert Suede (by far the most popular one), Supernatural and Merlot.
The first color that I will be talking about is Coral Crush. Boy oh boy, this is a stunning Spring/Summertime color. I am obsessed. It is a coraly pinky color. It goes with my skin tone so well and makes my teeth look super white.
The next color as I mentioned above is by far the most popular. Desert Suede. It is super mauvey with grey and brown under tones. It is vampy and flattering even on paler complexions.
Ah the next one is Supernatural and I must admit, I am obsessed with the name. I have been a fan of Supernatural for years…Marry me Dean?? LOL I do enjoy this color, it’s the perfect peachy nude.
Lastly, we have Merlot. Now I am a little bit confused about this one. When I think of Merlot, I think of a deep blue red. This is not what it came out to be. This is a very pink toned red. If you apply just one layer it seriously looks hot pink. With a second layer it deepens a bit and look a tad more red but still not what I expected in the slightest. It also stained my lips. I woke up the next morning with bright pink lips and it was a hassle to get off, but hey….it stayed on all night long without budging so you have to be okay with the give and take.
These babies run for $18 and you can purchase them at the Ulta store (online only) and on the Dose of Colors website. They are vegan, cruelty free, gluten free and paraben free.
All in all, I do really freaking love these. THEY DO NOT DRY OUT MY LIPS. Holy hell is that exciting to say. Most liquid lipsticks suck the life out of you, but its something that you just need to deal with but this does not do that at all. They are super long lasting, so comfortable and the line has such a wide range of colors. I am obsessed to say the least. This is a huge hit and if you struggle with dry lips, this is for you.
