PERIOD PROOF ACTIVEWEAR?! | Rutele

Finally…am I right!?

Honestly ever since I started my sustainability journey my favorite swap has been THINX period underwear. Not only are they so comfy and I never worry about leaking but I always feel so good mentally knowing that no period waste was thrown into a landfill to sit there for hundreds of years.

But…I think I just found my new favorite swap!

A couple of weeks ago THINX launched a brand new addition to their line…activewear. How freaking genius is that?! This is for sure that one product that I didn’t know I needed until I saw it with my own eyes.

Within the new line there are four styles: leggings, cycle shorts, training shorts, and leotards.

Thinx Period Activewear in the following order: leotard, cycle short, legging and training short.

Let’s dive in deeper to what each style has to offer!

Thinx leggings in kale and black.

LEGGINGS

Whether you’re running, doing yoga, or just chilling, the leggings are a great choice. They come with side pockets and a heating pad pocket in the front (which is holy moly wow brilliant). They moderate absorbency and come in two colors, black and kale. As of right now they have sized from xs to xl but plus/extended sizing will be launching later in 2021. They retail for $95.

Thinx cycle shorts in black.

CYCLE SHORTS

What better way to start a new cycle than with the cycle shorts? They are super trendy and the perfect length on your leg. They come with side pockets and a heating pad pocket in the front. The absorbency for these are light so definitely wear them on your last days of your period. They come in black and heather gray and retail for $75. As of right now they have sized from xs to xl but plus/extended sizing will be launching later in 2021.

Thinx training shorts in black.

TRAINING SHORTS

The training shorts absorb your period so you can stay active and leak-free. They come with a back pocket and are super absorbency so even on your heaviest days you can feel confident! They come in black and kale colors and retail for $65. As of right now they have sized from xs to xl but plus/extended sizing will be launching later in 2021.

Thinx leotard in black.

LEOTARDS

This versatile one-piece absorbs your period and wicks moisture just like our period underwear — so you can skip/dance/run without worrying about leaks. It is super absorbent and comes in the black color. It retails for $75. As of right now they have sized from xs to xl but plus/extended sizing will be launching later in 2021.

MY THOUGHTS

Honestly I think the product is genius not only because you can finally have a worry free work out during your period but also because of the heating pad pocket in the front. This can help with cramps but also it can help stay warm if you like to go running in the middle of winter. I love the thought that went into how people choose to stay active which lead them to make cycle shorts and leotards. It really opens up who will get use out of a brilliant product. The only con for me is the price but at the end of the day I am comfortable purchasing a sustainable and long lasting item even if it costs me more. I would rather save up for a high quality product that I can use for years versus buying something cheap that I will have to throw out and replace.
