Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette Review | Rutele

Hi my loves!

When I heard that Kat Von D is coming out with a new palette that looked like this I was absolutely over the moon. I am a huge ride or die KVD fan and I love literally almost everything in her makeup line so I knew right there and then that I had to get my hands on this gem.

I literally was still in Asia when I ordered this palette and if that’s not an explanation of how much I wanted it, well then I do not know what is.

This palette retails for $62 dollars which seems steep but for 24 shades, each weighing .04oz it is fairly inexpensive. Each shadow ends up costing about $2.50.

There are 15 shimmer, 7 matte and 2 topper shades.

This was everything I had imagined and more. The shadows are very consistent with the formula of all KVD shadows therefore they are super pigmented and easily bendable. I am in love. The huge color variety allows for so much experimenting and creating which is my favorite. I really enjoy palettes that push me to be more creative and push me out of my comfort zone. Along with the bright shades, there are enough neutral colors to create subtle and sultry looks as well. I really enjoy how I will be able to pick this up during any season. Kat Von D never fails!!

HOLY OMFG Kat Von D Alchemist Highlighter Palette (Swatches/Review/Demo) | Rutele

I broke my non buying streak (GO FIGURE, I AM SO WEAK) to purchase the Kat Von D Alchemist palette! Was it worth it?!? Wondering how to apply the alchemist highlights? In this video I swatch it, demo it and review it!

If you want to read my review vs watching it, scroll on down 😉

So lets start off with looking at how beautiful the packaging is….its holographic just like the highlighters. UGHHHHH and it’s such a cool shape. Like what other palette is triangle shaped? A++ for the aesthetics Kat!

Kat Von D spent 7 years making and perfecting the shades and the overall packaging. This is her dream product and her inspiration came from “the ancient science of alchemy—the art of turning natural materials into a precious elixir”. Formulated with Double Dimension Technology, this first-of-its-kind formula is packed with 360° refractive pearls, dipped in a prismatic coating, to deliver twice the transforming power. The formula is made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.

There are four shades: emerald (green), saphyre (blue), amethyst (ultra violet), and opal (pink). They are extremely buttery and apply/blend out like a dream. If using a brush there is quite a lot of kickback, but I personally do not mind it.  Here is a swatch on my fingers. This is just one swipe from each pan so you can see that they are pigmented and immediately reflect back the colors.

How To Use:

You can not only use this alone, but also over other shades to create a totally unique color. Pat it or swipe it over face (cheeks, above brows, cupids bow, nose, lips), eyes or even other parts of your body like the collarbones. You can also comb it through your eyebrows for a “supernatural shimmer”. Use your finger or a brush (using a finger produces more pigmentation).

My Thoughts:

HOLY SHIT I AM IN LOVE.  I have been wearing this non stop…on top of other makeup, and even alone. It is perfect for highlighting all over and really takes your makeup to the next step. For the price of $32, this is probably the best purchase I have made. I love transforming my makeup to a whole nother level…I also am obsessed with how cool and unique it can make any regular shade look. Really such a magical creation.

Here are a couple of other shot of the makeup that I created while first testing the palette.

Kat Von D, thank you for being so amazing and creating such a diverse palette.

You can purchase the palette at Sephora and the Kat Von D site.

XOXO, Rutele.
