NuSkin NuColour Light Shine Curl and Lash Mascara Review | Rutele

I mentioned this product in one of my recent videos and I just wanted to do a written post to go with the video and really share my final thoughts. If you want to see me try this on, give the video a whirl! Scroll on down for the written review…

A subscriber of mine, Lindsey Johnston, reached out to me about trying this mascara and me being me, I said HELLL YA! Send it my way! I love trying out new products.

So I will say I straight up assumed I would be getting a small sample of this, but nope, she sent me the full sized product! Lindsey, you are amazing and I want to really thank you!

This is what the packaging looks like. I actually do appreciate the packaging because it’s very simplistic and minimalistic, which are two of my favorite things.

This is what the wand looks like. It reminds me a little bit of the Two Faced Better Than Sex wand. It kind of dips inward in the middle. The formula of the actual mascara is quite interesting and I have not used anything close to it. It’s reallllly black which is great but its more of a shiny finish vs a matte finish that alll the other mascaras I have used have.

How To Use:

Pull the wand out, wipe off access product on the edges and apply the mascara from root to tip. If the lashes are not separated enough, repeat the sweeping motion. Reapply as desired.

My Thoughts:

This is amazing for blending your lashes in with falsies because of how black it is! I actually also enjoy the shininess of it! That is something unique to me and I like uniqueness. As for removal, this is semi difficult to remove, it doesn’t just swipe off with a makeup wipe but a makeup oil takes care of the job! Which is typical for a long lasting mascara. Over all, I do actually really like this mascara.

If you would like to purchase this, you can go and visit Lindsey’s site. The mascara originally is $29 dollars but she will be giving a $5 discount to my subscribers! Yay ūüėÄ

If you have tried this, let me know how you feel about it!! :*

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved makeup! At the age of ten I couldn’t even walk out of the house without some lip gloss¬†on.

Over the years I have tried out hundreds of products, of which some were successes and some were miserable failures. I am happy to say that I have found my ride or die products, at least for now! I mean it only took me 21 years of my life!! Below you will find the name, a description of the product and how to use it, and if you click on the image, you will be redirected to a site where you can purchase it (they will be listed in the order that I usually apply them).

  • MAC Prime+ Prep Fix +

Apply this before the primer. Allow it to dry into the skin and then proceed. You can also use this after you have set your foundation with a setting powder to prevent the make up from looking too dry. This gives your make up a more natural finish. This also works wonders when it comes to eye shadows. If you have a sparkly shadow that you want to have more of a pop to it, spray a little bit of this on your brush, dip it in the eye shadow and apply on the eye.

  • COVER FX¬†Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation

Foundations are pretty simple. After priming your face, apply a small amount of this to your face, a little really does go a long way with this one. It is oil free therefore it is unlikely to break you¬†out. It is pretty full coverage and makes the skin look flawless. If you have anything you want to hide, a pimple or some freckles…you cannot go wrong using this product.

  • Kat Von D¬†Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

Use this to highlight under the eyes, under the mouth, and above the eyebrows. This works as a great setting powder for under the eyes!! It is an amazing and creamy consistency which makes contouring and even bronzing a breeze. I do suggest getting the Kat Von D brush which has two ends, one for highlighting and the other for contouring!

  • BECCA¬†Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector¬ģ Pressed – Champagne Pop

FAVORITE HIGHLIGHTER EVER! This may be because I am obsessed with Jaclyn Hill, but it is a beautiful peachy tone perfect for my skin tone which fairly light. Use this to highlight and even as a shadow! Just brush some on the high points of your cheeks and in the corner of your eyes and BOOM, you are good to go!

  • Too Faced¬†Better Than Sex Mascara

This mascara is a little hard to work with, yes, it’s a bit messy but if you wipe off the excess¬†product off the wand before applying….oooh it’s wonderful. I have pretty long lashes to begin with, but this mascara makes them thick and long and perfect! I never wear any fake lashes because with this mascara¬†you don’t need to!

  • Kat Von D¬†Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Lolita

Best mauve shade for lips. The formula is beautiful! It dries perfectly matte and stays on all day. Compliment worthy! Try it out!

  • Urban Decay¬†Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray

Use this spray after all of your¬†make up is already on! Spray about 4 spritz¬†and let it air dry. Setting spray prevents your make up from sliding around or transferring on to other surfaces. I also have noticed that it makes my make up look more natural!! Who doesn’t love that?? It is quite pricey but it does last a long time. I have been using it for about 3 months (basically on a daily basis) and my bottle is still half full.

**As a tip from a person who really loves makeup and the power behind it, I do suggest investing in higher end products. Yes, you could buy from drug stores but the overall quality is lower and the longevity of the products is as well. I started my make up journey with drug store products and at this moment in my life I wish I would have saved that money and spent it on products that may be a tad bit more expensive but better for my skin and just overall better quality.
