Smashbox Cover Shot Bold Palette (Swatches/Review/Demo) and Rainbow Eyes Tutorial | Rutele

Happy Tuesday lovely angels!

I finally got my hands on the Smashbox Cover Shot Bold Palette! I will be swatching, demoing and reviewing it for you today. YAY!

If you would like to watch this in action, click on the YouTube video below. If you would like to read about it, scroll on down!

To start off, here is what the outside of the packaging looks like. This is a lenticular cover which means the background changes as you move the palette around. So that cloud of eyeshadow dust morphs as you tilt the packaging up and down. I actually really enjoy that. It’s unique, yet simple and very aesthetically pleasing. Smashbox Cover Shot Bold Palette

This is what the inside of the palette looks like. There two shimmer shades, which is the top row and six matte shadows, which is the bottom row. Starting with the top left we have Stormy and Techno, and moving on to the bottom left we have No Shame, Poolside, Sell Out, Bolt, Wait, What?, and Fling. Smashbox Cover Shot Bold Palette

Here is what the shadows look like swatched on my arm. As you can see they are very pigmented (this was from one swipe). No Shame is a true red with blue undertones, Poolside is a bright orange, Sell Out is a very cool yellow, Bolt is a minty green, Wait, What? is a true blue with cool undertones, Fling is a purpley pink, Stormy is a pearlescent white with specs of purple glitter, and Techno is a blue brown with very fine teal glitter.

These are extremely pigmented, but do blend away so you will have to keep replying until you get the desired shade. The consistency is fairly creamy which is amazing for longevity, but does make the blending a tad difficult. I did not notice any crazy kickback which  means these will last you a long time. The pans are quite small but this isn’t your every palette so that I didn’t mind at all. The palette itself is very compact which is amazing for traveling purposes.

Overall , I do really love the palette and will be reaching for it every time I feel like getting creative or funky.

These palettes retail for $29 on Sephora and Macy’s but you can get it on Amazon from Smashbox for $24.01. YAY to saving money! Click the image of the palette below and it will redirect you to Amazon.

Hope you enjoy it! :*

XOXO, Rutele.
